Rev. Dorothy Budd is Deacon at Church of the Incarnation, focusing on community outreach, helping the poor, and the homeless. She has dedicated her career to fighting for social justice. As a law student at the University of Texas, she interned as a juvenile defender. Rev. Budd spent several years working in the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, where she specialized in child abuse cases. In 2006, she earned an M.Div. from SMU’s Perkins School of Theology. Additionally, Rev. Budd and her daughter Peyton are the authors of the book Tested: How Twelve Wrongfully Imprisoned Men Held onto Hope (Brown Books, 2010), which tells the inspiring stories of twelve wrongly accused men and how their faith helped them survive.
