Day of Service
Church of the Incarnation parishioners join together each year in the tradition of reaching out into the community through a one day large-scale group volunteer activity. Projects include painting, landscaping, and remodeling at a community school or other non-profit organization. This is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to get involved in helping others and making a difference in our community.

On April 2, 2011, 300 volunteers from Church of the Incarnation spent the day at A.W. Spence Middle School, located just a few blocks east of the church.
Because so many volunteers participated, we were able to paint and decorate 5 rooms, install a working/scientific garden, landscape the front of the school, build 6 picnic tables and 6 benches, assemble over 1000 teacher appreciation gifts and community outreach partner gifts, clean and organize the theater and ROTC closets, paint a new school mascot mural in the gym, clean and paint the exterior of 20 portable classrooms, feed 300 volunteers lunch, and install soccer goals for the students.
It was a day of hard work and amazing fellowship for Church of the Incarnation. Principal Robert Barsurto summed it up best:
“The Spence family is honored and grateful for having such wonderful individuals dedicate their personal time for the betterment of our school. We are blessed by your show of kindness, and are appreciative for all the wonderful projects around our campus. It is people like you, who make a difference in the lives of our community and its children.”
