Habitat For Humanity
Please join us at the Church of the Incarnation Habitat build each Saturday beginning September 12th, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., ending November 6th. This is a wonderful opportunity to work alongside other church members, as well as the homeowner. It is extremely satisfying to see a home built in just eight short work days. This year we are sharing our house with the “Brotherhood of Saint Andrew” who are staffing the afternoons. No previous work experience is necessary. There are all types of jobs to be done. All we need is your enthusiasm and flexibility and as a bonus, lunch will be provided.
Mission of Ministry
Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity mission is to create affordable housing opportunities, revitalize neighborhoods, and generate new revenue for many cities in Dallas County.
Services
Dallas Habitat creates affordable housing by involving and empowering the community to create affordable homeownership opportunities to deserving families. Habitat brings together both public and private funding, community leadership and vision, and thousands of volunteers to address the affordable housing crisis in Dallas. Church of the Incarnation Commitment to Habitat: Over the past seven years COTI has provided financial and volunteer support to help transform neighborhoods by building one house every year. Every year, rain or shine, hot or cold, we achieve our goal. From the first day of the build to the Dedication Ceremony, COTI volunteers of all ages and physical abilities enjoy the unique fellowship experience of becoming a team that helps a family in need and helps transform a neighborhood in a short period of time.
Volunteer Opportunities
Every Saturday, for eight weeks, from 8 a.m. to noon, we are on site to build “our” house. Our commitment is to work from 8 a.m. to noon, enjoy lunch together then head home. Anyone wanting to help build until 4 p.m. is more than welcome. We welcome anyone over age 18 (except youth day Nov. 6 ) with any ability.
Volunteer Needs
25 people each work day. Tools or building skills are not required. Habitat crew chief and professionals guide us in all work functions. Contractors give detailed instructions. What is required is a desire of adventure and fellowship in the spirit of Christ.
