AIDS Meal Ministry The AIDS Meal Ministry provides meals to families who are impacted by HIV/AIDS. According to ASD: “The mission of ASD is to create and strengthen healthy communities through the delivery of quality, affordable, service-enriched housing for individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. ASD's mission includes advocacy, education, and the development of affordable housing options and community development opportunities, both for its residents living with HIV/AIDS, and for economically disadvantaged people.” The residents are most appreciative of anything anyone does for them, and it is very rewarding to visit with them during the dinner hour. Church of the Incarnation through teams of 4-8 volunteers provide meals three a month to these residences. Incarnation has had an AIDS Meal Supper Club group for over 10 years that has provided dinner to the residents of Hillcrest House (the largest) at AIDS Services of Dallas (ASD) on the second Monday of each month. Approximately fifty men and women have enjoyed their cooking and fellowship each month for these many years. In addition to Hillcrest House, a group of volunteers have recently begun serving dinner to the residents of Ewing House on the 4th Sunday of each month. Another group of volunteers provides dinner on the 3rd Monday of each month to the residents of the Revlon Apartments. There are many open nights at Ewing House, so we can always use more volunteers and start another Supper Club to assist in the care of these wonderful people who are seriously ill. Teams of 4-8 are needed to serve dinner. We currently need more volunteers and this is a great family or group event.
