New Orleans 2008 Mission Trip

Incarnation will be returning to New Orleans for the 3rd year in a row to help rebuild homes and lives!  Our team leader will be our own Doug Lang.  Here's some important information about the trip:

Dates: October 23 - 26, 2008.

Travel Arrangements: Southwest Airlines, departing Dallas Love Field at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, and returning to Dallas at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 26.

Accommodation: Urban Ministry Center, New Orleans. This is a former Bed and Breakfast that is now owned by the Episcopal Diocese of New Orleans and offers comfortable housing for volunteers. The facilities have been completely refurbished and include a full kitchen, washer/dryer and ample restrooms. It is located in the Garden District and is on the campus of the Bishop's office and the Cathedral.

Work: We will be working with the Diocesan Office of Disaster Relief and their well organized rebuilding program. Friday and Saturday will be our work days and should feel like two very full Habitat for Humanity work days. No particular skills are required, just energy and a willing heart!

Spiritual component: We will start and end each day with Morning/Evening Prayer and reflections. On Sunday morning we will attend a worship service and Eucharist at the Episcopal Cathedral

Registration: Contact the Outreach Office at outreach@incarnation.org. The registration deadline is September 1 and the final payment and Health History Form deadline is October 1. The sooner you register the better. The trip will be here before we know it!

Cost: The cost of the trip is $550 and includes airfare, lodging, ground transportation in New Orleans and breakfasts and lunches. A $50 deposit is required along with your registration paperwork. Partial need-based grant applications are available upon request.
