The Bishop Garrett Society The early story of the Church of the Incarnation is in great part the history and ministry of Bishop Alexander Charles Garrett who arrived in Dallas on December 31, 1874. As Bishop Garrett settled into his new missionary district, his theme for all his work was to make Christ known, not only as the Incarnate Son of God, but also as the Son of Man. With his foresight and financial gift of $350 to purchase a lot for the chapel, the Church of the Incarnation was born.
Like Bishop Garret, there are many faithful parishioners, past and present, who have acknowledged their gratefulness to God and their love of the parish by making gifts from their accumulated assets to the Church during their lifetimes or at their deaths.
To honor those who have made planned gifts to our parish since its creation 1874 and to acknowledge those who choose to do so in the future, the Church of the Incarnation and The Incarnation Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of the Bishop Garrett Society.
