Baptism and Confirmation Classes

Baptismal Class for Parents
10:20 a.m. in Bethlehem Chapel
Meets October 14, 21, 28 & November 4. Father Olver leads Incarnation’s bi-annual class designed for the parents and godparents of children who have been or will soon be baptized. Baptism is animportant event in the life of a family! The class will explore the origins of baptism in Scripture as well as what our Prayer Book and Anglican tradition teach us about this Sacrament of Initiation. We will also look at the role of godparents and how to choose one, along with practical advice on how to incorporate the Christian faith in the daily life of your family, with particular care being given to using the Prayer Book. The purpose of the class is to give parents information and tools to take the vocation to raise their children “in the Christian faith and life” (Book of Common Prayer, page 302). Contact Father Olver for more information.

Confirmation Preparation
This class focuses on the basics of the Christian tradition as we know them in the Episcopal Church, the Bible, the sacraments and discipleship. The class is open to all baptized children, sixth grade and above. Classes begin each September and culminate with the Bishop's visit in the spring. Preparation includes Sunday classes, overnight retreats, field trips, service opportunities and a small-group mentoring program.
